The above painting of an abstract cherry blossom branch was my second attempt at creating a floral painting. It remains to this day one of my favorites and I have been able to incorporate the design in my promotional materials with great success using Zazzle for ordering. The vase was purchased first at Home Goods for a greatly discounted price, but I had nothing to accompany it. So once again that little voice in my head that I never listened to before said “Make something yourself”. So, I daringly purchased a very large and intimidating canvas by faith! With each stroke I bravely foraged on into this unknown world of art, all the while thinking to myself with each dip of the brush….”Who knew!” Now, no matter where or how I choose to display these two, they are never separated. The colors brighten my spirit and give me so much joy. It serves as my own self-motivation every time I get bogged down in imposter syndrome and the negative thoughts that try to tell me I don’t know what I am doing! Yes! Yes, I do! I am doing this on purpose! I am an abstract artist creating with a God-given talent that I never imagined I had living within me. The glory of abstract is that it doesn’t require perfection. It can allow your creativity to flow in any capacity with any subject matter, as its interpretation is always dependent upon the viewer. Hence the motto “Abstract Artistry; where what you see is up to you!”
